Where has the time gone?

I know that I have been a MAJOR slacker!! Life is just busy, life just gets down, life just doesn't take the turns that you want. But today, I decided I want to make a change! Hooray! And the change starts with myself! I pray that I can make it through this journey.
Shane has finally graduated! I am so proud of him and I love him so very much! He is my rock. I wouldn't be able to survive so many things if it weren't for him!
Brody is my non-stop talker! I can never get him to stop! He is very very smart though! It amazes me how much he is capable of.
Chase is my little sunshine. His smile makes me smile! He is my mess maker though, but he is adorable the way through the destruction!
I love my family so much! This isn't even a recent picture-this was taken in April I think! Ha ha! Well at least it shows how cute we are!

This day was alot of fun! We got to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. Brody loved it! His favorite was all the pictures of Christ and the "brand new couches". We have been teaching Brody that the Temple is Jesus's house, so he actually believed that he was going to see him there, and he was nervous about it. He kept saying "Mom, is this where Jesus lives? Are we going to see him?" It was sooooo sweet! Great day with the fam!

So the cruise was super super amazing! I wish that I was back! All that food, and all that time with no kids! (That's what I am talking about!) The Bahamas was beautiful! I loved the beach! I'm normally not a swim suit gal-but I loved every minute of this vacation! The entertainment was great, the waiters were wonderful and we met some people that I know that we will never forget (including all the 15 year old girls for their dance competition :( we would like to forget about them). We got to play with a dolphin named Andy and we got to parasail! Both were great great great! And I loved my tan (even though I don't have it anymore). Thanks hon for the best 5 year celebration for us!

So it was Kara's great idea to have a party! I don't know how we came up with Harry Potter-but it was perfect, especially to help us get ready for the 6th movie coming out next month! So we dressed up as Harry Potter characters, played Harry Potter Clue and then watched the 5th movie outside under our patio! (It was raining and wet!) So much fun! I didn't know that I liked dressing up so much!

The other day when I came home from work, both the boys were on my bed asleep. This is what it looked like---I personally don't think that the boys look alike, but when I saw this I couldn't believe how identical they actually look. They are so sweet when they are asleep too! So I could go on and on about this girlie!! This is Shane's sister whom I look up to more than anyone I know!! Not only am I so grateful that she is my sister-in-law, I am more grateful that she is my friend! We have been running together for about a year and that is my favorite thing everyday! We talk about EVERYTHING! Kara is such an inspiring person. I always feel better about myself and want to be better when I am around her. She is also so great with the boys!! They both really love her. Kara is the kindof person that you always say good things about. I am so gonna miss her when she moves to Salt Lake. I know that it will be a good thing for her-but it's going to be a sad day for me everyday! I wish you the best Kara!! You deserve so much happiness!! My Dream Come True

As all young girls dream about the man that they will someday marry, one of my many requirements was to marry a man that could sing so that he could sing me to sleep. I married Shane. He does not sing. I had to make an exception, but however to be nice I have allowed him to sing since that is his favorite thing to do in the car. And the number one song that he likes to belt it out to is "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" by Aerosmith. Lets just say that I use to like that song. Love you Honey! You make me laugh!

This picture was taken like 3 years ago, but Megan is still so much apart of my life. We met in the Washington Terrace Ward and served in the Young Women's program together (for like 2 years I think). So anyways, Megan and I still keep contact on a regular basis (it helps when we both work for the same organization too!) Megan is one who you always know will be there for you. She is so caring and so sweet! I know that there have been multiple times that I have been sick, and she has shown up at my door with some soup! She is always thinking of others and is so aware of others needs! Megan-you are the best and I am so glad that we are going to always be friends!

A Good Friend

So I always do a post about someone that has made a difference in my life and of whom I think greatly of! This time it is August! I have known August for about a year. We are in the same ward. She was the one who really helped me get involved with the ward. She is such an accepting person. The first time that we got together we told each other all our struggles, our problems, hopes and fears and she has never judged me for my mistakes or hard times. She helped me out so much in a time in my life when the days were a little too dark. She understood and gave me some great advice about what I was going through at the time. She has helped me to come out of my shell and to just accept what life has given me and what I can do with it all. I look up to August so much, I am so grateful that she is my friend-I know that she was heaven sent. She came at a time in my life when I needed a friend the most!

Camille is my ultimate hero, and it was wonderful to see her get married to a great guy. She has been through so much and she deserves so much happiness! When Matt went on his mission to Puerto Rico, I knew that it would bless his family, and Camille has been living proof of that! We know and love her through Matt. Congrats Camille! We love you!

The Jazz in Dallas

We were able to go the the Dallas Mavs game to see the Jazz get beat! It was fun though! I am so use to the Energy Solution Arena (AKA The Delta Center), so it was fun to be in a different atmosphere for a game. However, it was really weird cheering for the opposing team. And like usual, when I go to games I really don't pay that much attention and just clap when everyone else does, and I did find myself clapping for Dallas, forgetting were I was. (Shame on me) The crowd was pretty nice to us, but at the end they would yell at us "Utah fans go home". There were other Jazz fans out there, so we weren't alone! Too bad they lost.

I was too embarressed to wear my Jazz gear. I thought that we were going to get beat up.

Who Needs Fruit, Vegetables, And Pizza For Lunch When You Can Have a Penny?

Where do I begin! On Saturday morning I was at a meeting for work, as soon as I am pulling into the driveway, Shane calls "Brody just swallowed a penny!" I rush into the house and Brody is just bawling! He was pretending to eat his play ice cream cone and there was a penny inside it that slid into his mouth as he was enjoying non existent food. So we called the emergency room and they did suggested an x-ray. He kept complaining that his tummy hurt, and really wanted the penny out! (I of course explained to him that there really is only one way that the penny would come out, so instantly he went straight to the bathroom and was a little dismayed when nothing happened.) We finally convinced him to go to the Doctor's, but all the while he was so scared of getting a shot, so the tears just kept coming. To make a long story short, we got the x-ray, and he finally felt better after that. Looking back it was actually pretty funny and everyone at Ogden Clinic was super nice, they kept telling us they loved us! (Strange!) But needless to say, we are going to make it through this, and this too, as well as the penny, shall pass!

This year for New Years Eve we went to Matt and Calie's house and enjoyed it with my family and some friends, Melissa and Kodee. We played a great game of "Redneck Life" my name was Betty Beth and Shane was Cletus Joe. It was a hilarious game! Then we pulled out the Wii with some guitar hero, outdoor challenge, tennis, and Raving Rabbids. It was alot of fun! And even both the boys stayed up until midnight! Happy New Year!

Brad Brad is such a great guy! He is for sure one of the greatest that I know! He is so kind and so understanding! There has been countless times when I have just needed someone to talk to and he has been there for me. He always listens to what I have to say and he always gives me really good advice. I always feel like a better person after being around him!

He is also a great grandpa! AKA Beaver! Both the boys love him so much-he always makes them smile!

He also makes the best salsa in the whole wide world! And brownies and chicken and pork roast! I love his cooking! He also is very talented with photography! And he lets me use his very nice camera when I want to feel cool! Brad is a very busy guy with work and his calling in the Bishopric-but he always makes time to be with family and to take care of their needs!

Thanks for all that you have done for us Brad! We love you so much!
Oh and I must mention Rook-he is a great and worthy opponent!

There have been some boys in our ward that like to leave little pranks at our house while we are away...they left so many flyer's for the ward Christmas party that we had to get them back. So we gathered them all up and filled 2 boxes of them. Then we wrapped them and delivered it on their doorsteps, saying that the gift was from the other! It was a success! Even though they gave us all those flyer's, they have no idea they are from us! (Says their parents)

Every year for Christmas we make our own chocolates! This is a huge tradition for us! My Grandma has been dipping chocolates for 50 years!! This was my first time actually being there in all the action. I'm not allowed to dip because my Grandma says that I have warm hands, and that will make the chocolate not set up. So I just ran around doing anything I could! But I learned that this tradition is a whole lot of work! I couldn't believe all the tiny details that needed to be met! It made me appreciate even more all those years that my Grandma has put into her favorite hobby! And now she is 83 years old and she is still dedicated! It was a lot of fun! I love you Grandma!

Kara and I have been running since June-trying to build our endurance! On Thanksgiving we ran our first 10k. It was a great feeling to run the whole time and to be running along side someone that you do have so much gratitude for! Also, to have great family members to cheer you on and to be waiting for you! Brody always says things that are so hilarious! And somethings that are so sweet! The other day he just came up to me and gave me a big hug and said, "Mom, you make my heart so happy!" It made me want to cry. At this time of year, when we reflect on the things we are grateful for, I most definitely am grateful to be a mom. There is nothing else in this world that compares to hearing a little child tell you how happy you make them. I love both my little guys so much. They add more to my life than anything else. Matt

This is my brother Mattie! I love this kid to death! He is considered one of my bestest friends! We can tell each other anything and everything! Matt has always been so kind to let me tag along with him to so many things! He is the goofiest person that I know and we love being around him!
He is so good to Brody and Chase! He is such a great example to them both and they both love him so much! Matt is always playing with them-especially anything sports! (He is the biggest Jazz fan I have ever met!)
He is also very close to Shane! I love their relationship-it's like they are actually brothers! Shane really only constantly talks to two people on a daily basis which is of course me and then Matt! They nonstop talk about everything Jazz and all the other sports facts in between! I have always felt it so special that these two get along so well!
Thanks Matt for all that you have been to us! I have always known that I have been deeply blessed because you have been my brother and friend! No one can ever take your place! You are so much apart of me! Thanks for being one of the greatest blessings in mine and my family's lives!

I cannot believe how fast the time has gone! I really thought that having a second little baby would help me stop, relax and enjoy it more...i have enjoyed it-every minute-but I didn't think he would grow up so darn fast! It makes me so sad-I can't even remember him as a newborn. How precious time is! You just blink and the next thing you know, they are 3 (like Brody)!

Corey

This is Shane's brother, Corey. As a family we love him so much! He is such a good brother to us and a wonderful uncle to our boys. I know that Brody loves him a ton (even though he calls him his favorite aunt)!

I remember the first time that I met Corey, it was at the airport when he returned home from his mission. It took awhile to get to know him, he was in "missionary mode" for a long time! I remember when I went with him to go get some pizza for dinner and that was the first time I realized how funny he was and how great he was to hang around! Since then he has come to mean more to me than just a brother-in-law. He is a friend, and a really good one too! Plus I consider him to be as close to me as my own brother!

I also know that Shane loves and appreciates his relationship with him. They are only a year apart in age, so they have been around each other for a long time! They are good friends and they have alot of fun together! They are a wonderful example to my little boys of how brothers should be towards one another!

My boys do love him too! Corey was there for alot of the time with Brody growing up, always playing blocks, and basketball! Plus he has even let Brody play with his Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! He lives farther away now, so Chase doesn't see him as much as Brody did, but anytime Corey is around, he is the one willing to hold the little guy!

What is your favorite game?

I love games! My grandma would play them with me all the time growing up (Uno and Skipbo). Then when I met Shane, I learned really fast that I needed to get involved and learn new games!
I love Rook! I started out by not liking it at all! But then when I was pregnant with Brody I was determined to learn and play-then all through my pregnancy that is all I wanted to do! Shane and I joke that I craved Rook rather than a certain food (which I really did-corn dogs!)
Then the Cowans (our wonderful friends) introduced us to "Killer Bunnies"! It is this way confusing card game with no point but so much fun! After Brody was born we would always head up to the Cowans apartment and play this game for hours! Love it!
Then I really like "Who, What, Where". This is a silly drawing game that always brings out the best chuckles!
Right now though, I am addicted to "Settler's". Again, this was a game that I wasn't to interested in when I first started playing, but now I can't get enough of it!
There are still so many games that I really like! But these are just to name my favorites!

Just recently we added an Aunt and an Uncle to Brody's list! He loves them both...as well as all the others who have been around him since day one! Thanks to all of you for being the best examples that my boys can ever have! We love all you guys!

Cousin Time

Brody and Chase actually don't have any "real" cousins, (hint to the Mueller's and the Schmuckers!) but this is Aubrey...daughter of Shari and Dave...our cousins! So in a small way, they really are cousins! Brody played very well with Aubrey who normally doesn't get along with little girls. Too bad Chase looks a little funny in this picture!

Brody loves taking pictures with my camera. I let him play around with it while I was getting ready for the day...I came back to my camera filled with pictures of all his cars. I'm only posting 4 pictures but there was around 50!

A Day at Lagoon

When we first got to Lagoon, Brody did not want to ride any rides! But we would just get him out of the stroller and get in line and then he would be fine. His favorite ride was the little kids version on the Tidal Wave and the ride he disliked the most was Rattle Snake Rapids! He hates to get wet!

Fireworks at WSU

Every year Weber State puts on a display of fireworks.

This year we watched them from the care center that

grandpa has been staying at for the past 2 months.

We had a lot of fun hanging out with the family!
